Alfa Laval Receives Supply Order for Waste Heat Recovery Systems

Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has won an order to supply waste heat recovery systems from Alfa Laval Aalborg for two diesel power plants in the Middle East.

The order, booked in the Marine & Diesel Equipment segment early July, has a value of approximately SEK 80 million. Delivery is scheduled for 2013.

The Alfa Laval Aalborg waste heat recovery systems will reuse heat from the diesel engines to produce steam for the turbines that generate electricity in the diesel power plants. The plants, built by the Danish power plant specialist Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (BWSC), will secure reliable and efficient power generation in Lebanon.

“Energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important and we have the products and solutions to contribute to a more sustainable energy supply”, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. “This order confirms our strong position in heat recovery solutions for the diesel power industry.”

Did you know that… Alfa Laval is building a new test and training centre in Aalborg, Denmark to test – among other things – boilers, scrubbers and heat exchangers for the marine and diesel industry?
