The Whirlybird wind turbine can also be modified to study the effects of magnetism. The wind turbine kit, provided by PicoTurbine, includes 16 bar magnets, a 6-position terminal block, 12 wire coils, a round Plexiglas stator disk, a round metal rotor disk, three 1-inch flat washers, 10 5/16-inch flat washers, a long threaded rod extender and a long bolt.
