Skystream 3.7 Wind Turbines from Big D Electric

Big D Electric installs and supplies wind turbines. The company also installs standby generators, solar applications, hot water heaters, and wind turbines in homes. Big D Electric installs Skystream 3.7 wind turbines manufactured by Southwest Wind.

The Skystream 3.7 wind turbine suits residential installation. The wind turbine can produce 400kW of power per month. This turbine needs only 8 to 10mph wind to propel the blades. The pole can withstand 150mph wind and the blades can withstand 90mph wind. The turbine should be installed 20 feet about the highest structure in the allotted space.

Big D Electric installs Skystream 3.7 wind turbines on a standard height of 45 feet suitable for residences. The rotor blades measure a length of 6 feet and a diameter of 12 feet.  The inverter is located at the head of the wind turbine.

According to Big D Electric, multiple turbines can be utilized on a single structure, and a single turbine cannot be utilized on multiple structures. Off-grid systems are provided with batteries. Poles with the height ranging from 33 feet to 60 feet are available for purchase, yet Big D Electric installs only a wind turbine that can be mounted on a 45 feet pole. The 45 feet pole looks more like a lighting pole in a parking lot.
