In the last month’s PV USA (PTC) ratings, solar modules from Canadian Solar are ranked as one of the highest performing modules. The solar module series that received the highest PTC ratings are CS5A- 180M, CS5P-240M and CS6P- 220P, 225P, 230P. To measure the real-time performance and power of the solar modules, the PTC ratings are becoming increasingly accepted as universal standards.
Chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar, Dr. Shawn Qu, said the company is delighted to have received the highest PTC ratings for its solar modules. Shawn Qu emphasized the ratings as proof of the company modules’ high performance in real-world conditions. The modules are utilized in important energy projects throughout world and are selected not only for its reliability but also for its efficiency, Shawn Qu added.
The power outputs of PVs are measured at atmospheric conditions that match the actual climatic and solar conditions for the PTC ratings. This test is required for all PV systems in the state of California to be eligible for tax rebates. The system owners will receive higher rebates for higher PV rating for their systems.
