Great Lakes Plumbing & Heating offers the XPG20 SunSource comfort system from the Dave Lennox Signature collection. The comfort system is an integrated solar heating and cooling system for residential applications. The central heat pump uses both solar energy and utility power to minimize the electricity usage at home. The solar heating system is equipped with a SilentComfort fan grille that utilizes vortex-suppression technology to provide a quiet operation. The technology reduces the airflow sound while the air exits from the unit.
The solar heating system incorporates a two-stage scroll compressor that operates at low speed for most of the time. This reduces the operating costs of the comfort system. The XPG20 SunSource comfort system includes one solar panel. The comfort system uses the R410A chlorine free refrigerant. The solar heating system incorporates Lennox system operation monitor that monitors the system performance continuously.
The XPG20 SunSource comfort system includes a compressor compartment that is completely insulated. The compressor compartment uses vibration-isolation mounts to prevent sound during operation. The solar central heat pump, provided by Great Lakes Plumbing & Heating, is compatible with the Humiditrol dehumidification system. The comfort system is made from pre-painted heavy gauge steel that can withstand harsh environment. The solar heat pump has to be combined with ComfortSense 7000 series thermostat, and a variable speed air handler or a furnace.
