ADR1500 Measures Ambient Dust in Real Time

The ambient, real-time Thermo Scientific ADR1500 Area Dust Monitor is easy to transport and install for continuous monitoring.

The extremely sensitive light-scattering photometer (nephelometer) technology found in the Thermo Scientific pDR series is employed in the Thermo Scientific Model ADR1500 Dust Monitor. The concentration of airborne particles flowing through the sensing chamber is directly correlated with the intensity of the light they scatter.

With continuous measurements of airborne particle concentrations for total particulate matter and cut-points ranging from PM10 to PM1, this optical arrangement gives the best response to particles.

The ADR1500 has a temperature and relative humidity (RH) sensor, as well as an internal heater, to reduce the positive bias caused by high ambient RH. Furthermore, the flow control is really volumetric, with digital feedback from the onboard barometric pressure sensor, temperature sensor, and calibrated differential pressure across a precise orifice. The ADR1500 incorporates the principles of real volumetric flow, which results in an exact sample volume and a precise particle cut-point.
