Interoperability Centre for Electric Vehicles and Smart Grids Inaugurated in the US

The first of the twin centres designed to promote common standards in electric mobility and smart grids on both sides of the Atlantic was today inaugurated near Chicago. Converging standards and interoperability between smart grids and electric vehicles will allow for deeper penetration of renewable energies in the electricity systems, thus facilitating the way to a low-carbon economy.

Fast Park Answers Growing Demand with Ten EV Charging Station Installations

Last year, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, electric vehicle (EV) sales tripled in the U.S. As market demand continues to grow, offsite airport parking company, Fast Park, installed ten charging stations in three of its 13 markets. The program will be branded FastCharge at all locations and charging a vehicle will be a complimentary service for Fast Park customers.

ABB Wins Contract to Build EV Fast-Charging Infrastructure in the Netherlands

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announced today that it has been selected by Fastned to supply chargers to more than 200 electric vehicle fast-charging stations in the Netherlands, bringing an EV fast charger within 50 kilometers of all of the country’s 16.7 million inhabitants.
