E20 Fuel Achieves 20% Reduction of Hydrocarbon and Carbon Monoxide Emissions in Automobiles: Study

The use of E20 fuel, which is a blend of 20% ethanol with gasoline, in automobiles reduces the emissions of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons when compared with E10 fuel or ordinary gasoline, according to a research by the Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology. The performance of the vehicle with regard to its drivability or maintenance of the traditional internal combustion engines were also not affected by using this fuel, according to the study.

Laval University Student Team Wins 2010 Shell Eco-Marathon Americas Challenge, Achieves 2,487.5 Miles Per Gallon

About 42 student teams, comprising more than 400 students, from different universities vied with each other to take the top slot in the 2010 Shell Eco-marathon Americas challenge that was held on the streets of Houston. Ballard Power Systems Signs Fuel Cell Power Modules Supply Contracts

Ballard Power Systems, New Flyer Industries, and ISE Corporation have signed an agreement to supply a fuel cell hybrid bus to SunLine Transit Agency in California that is powered by an FCvelocity(TM)-HD6 power module from Ballard. Currently, 20 buses that are similar to this 40-foot fuel cell bus are in operation in Whistler, B.C. This fuel cell bus, which has been delivered, will enter regular service in 2010.
