Solar Trust of America Begins Testing of Next Generation Parabolic Solar Collector Technology

Solar Trust of America announced that testing of an advanced parabolic trough solar radiation collector technology has been started by its subsidiary, Solar Millennium. The technology, which is known as HelioTrough, is being tested at a solar power plant in southwestern area of the United States. The purpose of testing is to measure the performance efficiency of the technology under commercial operating environment. The testing is performed before the solar collectors are installed at various proposed solar thermal plants across the world.

Cavico Signs Additional Construction Contract with Lilama for Hua Na Hydropower Plant

Cavico Corporation announced that it has signed an additional construction contract with Lilama for the Hua Na Hydropower plant. Cavico, a Vietnam-based infrastructure development company, is expected to earn additional revenues of $11.9 million from this contract. The initial contract value signed by the company with Lilama, a state-owned company, was $4.9 million for the construction work.

Capitalizing on a new legislation signed by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle into a law, which allows Energy Composites Corporation access to the $238 million municipal tax-free bonding authority, the company is moving ahead with its development of a wind blade producing plant in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which is also known as Stimulus Bill, has created the Recovery Zone Facility pool.
