U.S. Department of State Supports Coal Cleaning Technology in India

In support of the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate, the U.S. Department of State has awarded more than $1 million to a university-industry team led by the Center for Advanced Separation Technologies at Virginia Tech to help India increase energy production and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by developing and testing advanced technologies for cleaning coal.

Illinois Electric Utility Gets Approval to Use Calgon Carbon Product for Mercury Removal

Calgon Carbon Corporation has announced that the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (ILEPA) has granted Midwest Generation approval to use Calgon Carbon's FLUEPAC MC Plus activated carbon to control mercury emissions from plants that burn coal to produce electricity.
