South Africa Entity Signs MOU to License NEAH's PowerChip Fuel Cell, Formira HOD and BuzzBar Technologies

Neah Power Systems, Inc., an emerging leader in fuel cell-based power solutions and rechargeable lithium battery storage solutions for defense, commercial, and consumer applications, proudly announced that the Company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a large South Africa based entity, to license the NEAH's technology. This license would include the PowerChip® fuel cell technology, the Formira HOD® technology and the BuzzBar technology.

Fortum Commences Wind Farm Project with 35MW Capacity in Ulyanovsk, Russia

Fortum is starting a wind farm project in Ulyanovsk, Russia with a total capacity of 35 MW. The value of the investment is approximately EUR 65 million. The wind farm is expected to start production in 2017, serving the city of Ulyanovsk, which is located 680 km south-east of Moscow and has 620,000 residents.

Hooper Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant in Colorado Becomes Commercially Operational

Xcel Energy and SunPower Corp. announced today the commercial operation of the 50-megawatt Hooper solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Colorado's San Luis Valley. Xcel Energy is purchasing the power generated by the plant at cost-competitive rates under a power purchase agreement with SunPower. The utility estimates that the plant is generating enough electricity to serve the needs of approximately 13,500 average Colorado homes.
