Enovos Luxembourg S.A. has acquired the "La Benate" wind farm near Saintes in France. The 6 wind turbine generators (WTG), with 2 MW capacity each, are of the Enercon E82 type. Since May 2010, the wind farm had been providing power to the public grid; final commissioning of the WTGs is expected to be completed in June 2010.
All of the power generated from this wind farm will be fed directly into the public grid, sufficient to power approximately 8,000 homes.
Enovos Luxembourg’s Head of Renewable Energies Daniel Christnach stated that the wind farm generates approximately 32 GWh of clean energy annually, which will help avoid approximately 13,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions from entering into the atmosphere each year.
Recently, Enovos Luxembourg also took part in the "Bard 1" offshore wind farm. Enovos Luxembourg is a completely-owned Enovos International S.A. subsidiary.
