Crealy Great Adventure Park Plans to Power Rides with Solar Energy

Crealy Great Adventure Park, located in Devon, UK, has unveiled its plans to install solar power to run its rides located at its 100-acre complex.

A Ride in the Park

The installation will make the theme park to be the first to run its rides utilizing solar power. Currently, the park utilizes bio-diesel for its vehicles used at the site and bore water for its usage.

The proposed 200,000 sq ft roof top solar installation at the Adventure Park will cover the roof area of the key building as well as its main car park. The installation will meet nearly 90% power requirement of the park in the summer months. The generated power will be utilized to manage all its rides as well as the catering facilities located at the park. Additional unutilized power will be transferred to the National Power Grid.

The power generated from the 1 MW solar installations is enough to meet the power requirements of around 200 average homes in the UK and will offset nearly 515 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
