All the hard work in planning and construction undertaken by the University and the Anaergia team of engineers and technicians has been rewarded. The entire team including engine supplier 2G Energy of Florida and the contractor, Weiland Davco based in Lansing, Michigan are proud of the final product," stated Bernard Sheff, PE, Vice President of Agriculture at Anaergia. Mr. Sheff is a graduate of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University.
"It's an honor to receive this recognition. This is a unique project as it's one of the largest operating anaerobic digesters on a University campus in the United States. Through collaboration with Anaergia and our teaching, research and outreach programs, we are developing new sustainable energy solutions that will have a positive impact in all regions of the world," added Dana Kirk, Ph.D., PE, Michigan State University, Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering and Manager of the Anaerobic Digestion Research and Education Center (ADREC).

The American Biogas Council is an industry association which represents over 200 companies dedicated to maximizing the production and use of biogas from organic waste.
