Green Toys Inc., a company dedicated to providing environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional toys, announced today a new line of toys made from recycled plastic. Manufactured in the U.S.A. from curbside collected plastic milk containers, Green Toys products are non-toxic, save energy, reduce landfill waste and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Green Toys will preview these new toys at the American International Toy Fair, taking place February 17-20, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, booth #1633 - C.
“There is an overwhelming demand from consumers and retailers for toys that are good for the environment and safe for kids. Our new line of toys made from recycled plastic milk containers deliver on both counts,” said Robert von Goeben, co-founder of Green Toys Inc. “By using post-consumer recycled plastic, we close the loop and show kids the real world benefits of recycling.”
Green Toys Inc. runs its business locally and operates with the environment in mind. All aspects of its toy production, including manufacturing, packaging, assembly, and fulfillment, occur in California, a state known for strict environmental standards. The close proximity of the company’s vendors and operations eliminates unnecessary transportation and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Green Toys Inc. has also extended its environmental efforts into its packaging by using recycled paper products with no traditional plastics or films.
Green Toys products made from recycled materials will be available in retail stores starting spring 2008, and will include Green Toys™ Tea Set, Green Toys™ Indoor Gardening Kit, Green Toys™ Cookware and Dinning Set, and Green Toys™ Sand Play Set.

Green Toys Inc. places a high priority on safety. The products conform to the requirements of ASTM Standard Consumer Safety Specification on Toy Safety, F963. Based upon third-party independent laboratory tests, the toys contain no traceable amounts of Phthalates or Bisphenol-A (BPA). The products were designed without external coatings, eliminating fears of lead paint, and meet FDA requirements for food contact.
