Free water leak detection kits to customers for saving water

California American Water, the wastewater utility company, has come up with measures to help its customers in the Ventura County reduce the usage of water during winter holidays. The company believes that the water leak detection kit mailed to its customers will help accomplish its goal of making its customers “go green” this winter by detecting water leakages inside and outside their homes and seeing lower utility bills as a result.

Al Yanez, California American Water's Ventura County’s, Operations Manager, stated that the company has immense dedication in supplying its Ventura County district customers with the materials and educational resources needed to bring down the utilization rate of water and to save money especially in the holiday season. Taking this into consideration Yanez has also mentioned that while detecting most leaks are relatively easy, there are others that may go completely unnoticed and become wasted opportunities for saving water.

The water leak detection kit comes with clear instructions on detecting and mitigating water leaks as well as information on the typical and rare water leaks within and outside homes and how they can be rectified.

The mail distribution of water leakage detection kits by California American Water forms part of an overall campaign comprising the distribution of free shower heads and hose nozzles designed for saving water, distribution of water conservation wheels offering display magnets outlining watering schedules, discounts on water efficient dishwashers, washing machines and other equipment, and home audits for helping customers understand wise ways of using water.
