Sun's Open Work Program Cuts CO2 Emissions

Sun Microsystems, Inc. today announced its inclusion in an Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) report that recognizes innovations in environmental efficiency that also benefit the bottom line. In "Innovations Review: Making Green the New Business as Usual," EDF acknowledged Sun's Open Work program, which utilizes innovative technologies, collaboration tools and support so that employees can work anywhere, anytime.

Antireflection Coatings Can Be Used to Improve Solar Cell Performance

Magnolia Optical Technologies, Inc. announced today that in collaboration with the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD it has developed broad band multi-layer AR coatings that can be used for visible and IR sensors applications including enhancing solar cell performance. This work was partially funded by an MDA/Army funded SBIR Program.
