The Glendale Energy Power Plant, a biogas plant at the city of Glendale’s municipal landfill, has started sending its entire output of energy to APS customers. The 2.8-megawatt biogas plant is owned and operated by Sexton Energy’s subsidiary, Glendale Energy LLC.
The TF30B freestanding boiler stove has a multifuel riddling grate that is controlled externally. The airwash system keeps the glass clean to provide a clear view of the flames and sends the pre-heated air across the fire door equally. This boiler stove incorporates water sensing thermostatic control.
The Brunel 3CB multi-fuel stove incorporates an external riddling and an ash pan. It uses cleanburn technology to ignite the fuel and to increase the heat output to provide a cleaner environment. The airwash system has a vent to draw cool air from outside and wash the inside part of the glass.
The Auburn corn stove is equipped with a digital stove control panel that includes various features such as touch control, thermostat option, five heat settings, SmartStart, power on and off, and manual auger feed button. The digital control panel also offers selection between thermostat and manual modes.
The primary energy input required for the Enercab 250 from SCHMITT ENERTEC is 970kW. The space required to install this gasification unit has been measured as 18 x 9 (L x W). The wood gas produced with the help of this gasification unit is completely free from tar that also helps in the maintenance and efficient functioning of the combustion engine.
A collaboration led by researchers with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) has developed a microbe that can produce an advanced biofuel directly from biomass. Deploying the tools of synthetic biology, the JBEI researchers engineered a strain of /Escherichia coli/ (/E. coli/) bacteria to produce biodiesel fuel and other important chemicals derived from fatty acids.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded a conditional grant of $22.6 million for the construction of a biomass gasifier project that is being jointly developed by Rentech and ClearFuels Technology. The project is proposed to be constructed at Rentech’s Energy Technology Center in Denver and will be integrated with its Product Demonstration Unit (PDU). Renewable synthetic fuels from biomass will be produced from this project.
The Jotul F118 CB wood burning stove is equipped with a functional polished cookplate. It has a top, rear or side flue outlet that can be interchanged. The rear flue from the centre has a diameter of 691mm and the flue outlet has a diameter of 6 inches.
The wood fired hot tub is provided with a remote thermometer and an alarm that can be used to monitor the water temperature. If the water temperature is low, more fuel can be added. If the temperature is high, cold water can be added to the tub.
The entire Biogas CHP unit from SCHMITT ENERTEC can be controlled using thermal or electric energy according to the requirements. For the purpose of remote access, customers can connect the unit to an existing Internet line or telephone modem.
