Dominion Acquires 14.9 MW Fuel cell Park in Connecticut

FuelCell Energy, Inc. a global leader in the design, manufacture, operation and service of ultra-clean, efficient and reliable fuel cell power plants, today announced that it is providing a turn-key distributed power generation solution for the engineering, procurement and construction of a 14.9 megawatt (MW) fuel cell park in Bridgeport, Connecticut that includes the manufacture and sale of five 2.8 megawatt DFC3000® fuel cell power plants.

Dental Dams Made from Guayule-Based Biorubber Material

Yulex Corporation, an agricultural-based biomaterials company, and Four D Rubber, a UK-based manufacturer of latex sheeting for the dental, fitness, clothing and industrial markets and applications, announced today a partnership to produce the first plant-based, latex allergy-friendly dental dam. The Yulex Dental Dam will be made from guayule-based biorubber material. Guayule is a renewable, non-food, latex allergy-friendly crop grown in the U.S.

Battery Dominant Fuel Cell Bus from GE

Researchers at GE Global Research, the General Electric Company’s technology development arm, have achieved a first step in reducing the cost of clean fuel, zero emission buses, with a vehicle powered by GE’s new Durathon™ battery in tandem with a lithium battery and a hydrogen fuel cell. This promising development of a new energy management system could help accelerate both fuel cell acceptance and electrification of bus fleets, delivery trucks and other larger, heavy-duty vehicle fleets enabling clean vehicle technologies.
