Researchers at the University of Surrey have come up with an efficient and low-cost alternative to produce electricity. According to them, a by-product obtained during the manufacture of biofuels can be used to power microbial fuel cells. This latest research could pave the way to design self-powered tools. The researchers presented their study at the Autumn Conference of Society for General Microbiology.
