Scientists Collect Images of Methane Seeps in Deep Arctic Ocean

Over a course of 12 days Dr. Giuliana Panieri and her colleagues from Centre for Arctic Gas Hydrate, Environment and Climate (CAGE) collected images from seven areas of known methane release in the Arctic Ocean. One of them was Vestnesa Ridge, with over 1000 active seep sites at the depth of over 1000 m.

The Electric Circuit is very pleased to announce that two 400-V fast-charge stations are now available to electric vehicle owners in Québec thanks to the support of Nissan Canada and under partnership agreements with AddÉnergie and CAA-Québec. One such station is located at the headquarters of AddÉnergie, at 2327, boulevard du Versant-Nord, at the intersection of AutoRoutes 440 and 740. The other fast-charge station is located outside of the offices of CAA-Québec, at 444, rue Bouvier, near autoroutes 40 and 973.

Atlantic Power Closes Sale of its Wind Portfolio to SunEdison Affiliate

Atlantic Power Corporation ("Atlantic Power" or the "Company") announced today that it has completed the previously disclosed sale of its wind portfolio to an affiliate of SunEdison, Inc. (NYSE: SUNE) for cash proceeds of approximately $347 million, net of closing adjustments. The wind portfolio consisted of five operating wind projects in Idaho and Oklahoma with a net ownership by Atlantic Power of 521 megawatts.

New Study Shows Corals Can Adapt to Global Warming

Some coral populations already have genetic variants necessary to tolerate warm ocean waters, and humans can help to spread these genes, a team of scientists from The University of Texas at Austin, the Australian Institute of Marine Science and Oregon State University have found. The discovery has implications for many reefs now threatened by global warming and shows for the first time that mixing and matching corals from different latitudes may boost reef survival.

EDF Renewable Energy Places Turbine Order with Vestas for 150MW Salt Fork Wind Project in Texas

EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) has placed a firm order with Vestas Wind Systems A/S to supply the 150 megawatt (MW) Salt Fork Wind Project in Texas. The order marks the first draw on the 1,000 MW Master Supply Agreement (MSA) announced in December 2014. Delivery of the 75 V100-2.0 MW is scheduled for third quarter 2016.
