Canadian Solar Completes Construction and Grid Connection of Three Solar PV Power Plants in Japan

Canadian Solar Inc. (the "Company", or "Canadian Solar"), one of the world's largest solar power companies, today announced that it completed construction and grid connection of three of its solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Japan, with a total of approximately 5.2 MWp, including the 2.2 MWp Tsukuba Stones Solar Power Plant in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, the 2.0 MWp Tomigaoka Solar Power Plant in Isa City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and the 1.0MWp Isa City Solar Power Plant in Isa City, Kagoshima Prefecture.

New Geoscience BC Study Reveals Economic Viability of Geothermal Energy in British Columbia

Geothermal exploration has occurred in British Columbia for a number of years. Currently however, no electricity is produced in British Columbia from geothermal sources. To better understand the economic viability of geothermal energy in British Columbia, Geoscience BC and partner BC Hydro retained Kerr Wood Leidal Associates Ltd. (KWL) in January 2015, who with its partner GeothermEx Inc. undertook a high level technical and economic assessment using publicly available information for 18 specified geothermal sites around the province.

Jilin Province New Tianlong Industry to License DuPont's Cellulosic Ethanol Technology

Today DuPont and Jilin Province New Tianlong Industry Co., Ltd., (NTL) announced a licensing agreement to begin the development of China's largest cellulosic ethanol manufacturing plant, located in Siping City, Jilin Province, China. The agreement allows NTL to license DuPont's cellulosic ethanol technology and use DuPont™ Accellerase® enzymes, to produce renewable biofuel from the leftover biomass on Jilin Province's highly productive corn farms. NTL is working to secure the necessary government approvals and support to implement this agreement.

Trina Solar Signs Agreement to Supply 51MW of Dual Glass Modules to Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute

Trina Solar Limited ("Trina Solar" or the "Company"), a global leader in photovoltaic ("PV") modules, solutions, and services, today announced that it has signed an agreement to supply 51 MW of its Dual Glass Modules to Yunnan Electric Power Design Institute, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd., and the EPC provider for the agricultural PV power plant project located in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province in China. The plant will be used to power equipment in tea plantations, and will be the first of its kind within China.

Hanwha Q CELLS to Provide 50MW of Solar Modules to Sunrun

Hanwha Q CELLS Co. Ltd. ("Hanwha Q CELLS") today announced a new solar module supply agreement with Sunrun, the largest dedicated residential solar company in the U.S. Through the partnership, a subsidiary of Hanwha Q CELLS will provide Sunrun with 50 MW of solar modules beginning this year. The cells and modules will be manufactured from Hanwha Q CELLS' fully automated and efficient diversified global manufacturing facilities, including production in South Korea starting in 2016.

HydroRevolution to Construct Commercial Solar Desalination Facility in California

HydroRevolutionSM, a California subsidiary of WaterFX™, today announced plans to build a commercial solar desalination plant in the Panoche Water and Drainage District in California's Central Valley. Once constructed, HydroRevolutionSM will provide a highly sustainable water source to local water districts by using solar energy to recycle salt impaired water into freshwater. This technology will be the first of its kind in the Central Valley but the company hopes this project is merely the first step in revolutionizing the way California uses water.
