First Solar Technology Selected for 12MWAC Aerojet Rocketdyne Solar Power Project

Nashville-based renewable energy provider Silicon Ranch Corporation and Tempe-based First Solar, Inc. announce the selection of First Solar technology and products for the 12-Megawatt (MW)AC solar power project that will provide power to Aerojet Rocketdyne and Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) in East Camden, Arkansas.

UPS to Purchase Renewable Natural Gas for Delivery Vehicle Fleet

UPS® today announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase renewable natural gas (RNG) for its delivery vehicle fleet from Clean Energy Fuels Corp. The deal signifies UPS's plan to significantly expand its use of renewable natural gas for its alternative fuel and advanced technology fleet. The company has a goal of driving one billion miles using its alternative fuel and advanced technology fleet by the end of 2017.

Fulcrum BioEnergy Selects Abengoa to Build Biorefinery to Convert Municipal Waste into Biofuels

Abengoa, the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, has been selected by Fulcrum BioEnergy, Inc., to build the first biorefinery using gasification technology to convert municipal solid waste (MSW) into syncrude that will be upgraded into jet fuel. The contract is worth approximately US$200 million.

Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Pattern Energy Announces Acquisition of 150MW Amazon Wind Farm from Pattern Development

Pattern Energy Group Inc. ("Pattern Energy"), today announced its acquisition of the 150 megawatt (MW) Amazon Wind Farm (Fowler Ridge) project in Indiana from Pattern Energy Group LP ("Pattern Development"). Upon completion of the project, Pattern Energy will have an owned interest of 116 MW and it is expected that institutional tax equity investors will acquire the balance. Pattern Energy acquired the Amazon Wind Farm (Fowler Ridge) project for a total cash funding commitment of approximately US$127 million, a portion of which will be used to pay down construction debt upon the completion of construction. The acquisition will be funded from available cash and credit facilities.
