Morningstar offers the TriStar MPPT solar controller models TS-MPPT-45 and TS-MPPT-60. The solar controllers incorporate TrackStar technology and utilized in off-grid type of photovoltaic systems up to 3 kW. The tracking algorithm included in the models quickly finds the solar array peak point by fast scanning of the complete I-V curve.
This MPPT module is designed to detect multiple energy points during low light conditions such as shading, sunrise, sunset and low level of solar radiation. The TriStar MPPT solar controller model is constructed sturdy with epoxy encapsulated inductors and conformal coated printed circuit boards with protection against short circuit.
TriStar TS-MPPT-60 Solar Controller
The TriStar TS-MPPT-60 solar controller provided by Morningstar has a dimension of 29.1 cm x 13.0 cm x 14.2 cm and weighs 4.2 kg. This model utilizes type one (indoor and vented) IP20 type of enclosure. The peak power efficiency of this solar controller is 99%, its nominal system voltage is 12, 24, 36 or 48 V DC, its battery operating voltage range is 8-72 V DC, and its maximum self-consumption of power is 2.7 W. This model has suppressors to protect against transient surges up to 4500 W per port. This system is endowed with a range of networking and communication features such as RS-232 port for PC connectivity, EIA-485 for communication between a number of connected devices on a bus and Ethernet for web interface on local network.
The TriStar TS-MPPT-60 solar controller is manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified facility. The other certifications include ETL Listed (UL1741), FCC Class B Part 15 Compliant, cETL (CSA C22.2 No. 107.1-01), RoHS Compliant, Complies with (NEC) and U.S. National Electric Code.
