Opel Inc. offers the Opel TF-800 Single Axis Tracker. This horizontal tracker can be easily modified to accommodate any type of PV panel or solar thermal module. The TF-800 offers a maximum coverage area of 780 sq.ft and incorporates a modular design for easy length and breadth adjustments to suit the installation location.
This module uses a concrete foundation and offers easy installation with least manpower usage. The installed networking features allow this module to share familiar resources such as GPS unit and Anemometer. The networking feature is also used for remote programming of operations to reduce the upkeep costs.
The Opel TF-800 Single Axis Tracker provided by the Opel Inc has a length x height x width measurement of 23.69 m x 1.81 m x 2.99 m and has a total weight of 641.8 kg. This model can withstand wind pressure up to 145 km/hr. The maximum sail area of this module is 23.5 m x 2.99 m and the approximate electrical output is 10.08 kW. This module rotates in azimuth direction of ± 60°.
The Opel TF-800 Single Axis Tracker is provided with a fully programmable control system featuring its new ‘Backtracking’ capability. This backtracking feature automatically reverses tracking motion of the solar module in the morning and in the evening to reduce the quantity of shadow cast by individual units on the adjacent unit. This feature increases the exposure of solar panels towards sun resulting in augmented power production.
