Ascent Solar Technologies Commences CIGS Production from Colorado Plant

Thin-film solar modules developer Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. has commenced monolithically integrated flexible CIGS modules production from the company’s high-volume FAB 2 manufacturing facility located in Thornton, Colorado.

The CEO and President of Ascent Solar Technologies Farhad Moghadam stated that the company uses a plastic substrate for the manufacture of monolithically integrated thin-film lightweight CIGS modules. Initial production from the plant is achieving 10.5% efficient modules and 11.9% peak module aperture efficiency.
