Dow Corning Appoints Distributors for Silicone-Based Technologies for Photovoltaic Applications

Dow Corning Corp., a global leader in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, has named Ellsworth Adhesives, Krayden, Inc. and K.R. Anderson, Inc. as authorized North American distributors of a range of its silicon-based materials for photovoltaic applications.

“We look forward to working with these industry leaders to extend our reach and to provide superior products and services that address critical industry challenges such as availability of raw materials and the cost and performance of solar modules,” said Gaetan Borgers, global industry director, Dow Corning Solar Business.

Dow Corning has longstanding relationships with the three distributors, and each has received the Dow Corning Electronics Distributor of the Year Award -- Ellsworth in 2007, Krayden in 2008-2009, and K.R. Anderson in 2006. Combined, they offer Dow Corning more than 50 years of experience in the distribution of specialty chemicals and equipment.

Under the agreement, the distributors will supply Dow Corning’s range of frame sealants, junction box potting agents/adhesives and rail bond adhesives in North America.

“Ellsworth welcomes the opportunity to utilize our experienced team to market and sell Dow Corning’s cost effective solar energy solutions,” said Mike McCourt, global president, Ellsworth Adhesives - Specialty Chemical Distribution.

“We are proud to be adding Dow Corning PV silicones to our selected family of lines designed to complement each other and offer solar manufacturers and related businesses the best available options for their application needs,” said Wayne Wagner, president, Krayden, Inc.

“K. R. Anderson is pleased to team up with Dow Corning as part of the solar supply chain to bring affordable, efficient, high-quality solar solutions to market,” said Dennis Wagner, president, K. R. Anderson, Inc.

Dow Corning Solar Solutions provides materials and services for the entire photovoltaic supply chain, from silicon feedstock for ingots and wafers production to solar module assembly materials. It is leveraging its unique position and global leadership in the silicon value chain to deliver solutions that will make a difference in the photovoltaic industry and help photovoltaic producers fulfill the mid- and long-term promises of solar energy.
