Solar Nation Installs Solar Electric System in Oregon

Solar Nation has installed and commissioned a solar electric system with 200 kW capacity on a facility of cold storage company Henningsen Cold Storage Company located in Gresham, Oregon. Henningsen Cold Storage Company has installed solar power for not only reducing and stabilizing energy costs, but also for protecting the environment.

The installation at the Henningsen facility includes thin-film solar panels numbering 1,386, covered over a roof space of 32,479 square feet. These thin-film solar panels were produced by UNI-SOLAR. The solar system will supply about 20% of the total electricity requirements of the 145,000-square-foot building.

Henningsen Cold Storage Company’s VP in charge of, Corporate Development and Engineering Paul Henningsen stated that they faced some complications in installing the solar electric systems on the rooftop, since it required special engineering, incentive applications as well as inspections. He added that Solar Nation had simplified the entire installation process.

Over the course of its 25-year warranted period, this solar electric system is likely to prevent carbon dioxide emissions of 158 tons from reaching the earth’s atmosphere, equivalent to driving a vehicle more than 5,053,740 miles or the yearly carbon dioxide offset of more than 158,687 trees.
