Siemens Energy Unveils “The Art of Wind” Competition

Siemens Energy Inc. has announced an art competition termed as “The Art of Wind”. This is an all media contest, excluding photography, for coinciding with the celebration of the company’s first shipment of its wind turbine nacelle at the its newly constructed wind turbine nacelle assembly plant situated in Hutchinson, Kansas.

The prize winning artwork will be put on display at the company’s lobby entrance or on the grounds in order to make the employees, customers as well as visitors to view and enjoy the art.

The wind turbine assembly plant, which is likely to be operational by December 2010, is anticipated to employ about 400 “green-collar” employees, covering an area of around 300,000 square feet. Recently, the company expanded its manufacturing facilities located at Fort Madison, Iowa. Siemens Energy delivers power systems for the energy sector.
