AEG Power Solutions to Supply Power Electronics to Photovoltaic Plants in Europe

AEG Power Solutions, a world wide provider of power electronics and a company fully owned by 3W Power Holdings S.A., has received a key photovoltaic contract for the supply of 260 MW equipments to meet the supply requirements of utilities.

For a period of one year beginning from December 2010 the company will offer all the electrical system requirements for the 13 PV power plants located all over Europe, each with a capability to produce 20 MW power.

The company is planning to provide all the key PV requirements such as a solar inverter, a transformer, medium voltage switchgear, monitoring and supervising equipment in a modular box structure called the TKS-C. The company will also supply box structures with electrical equipments for its power monitoring and control solutions and is planning to set up the equipments into service at the power production sites. The company has decided to utilize its Protect PV.250 inverter known for its efficiency during the first phase of the project and use it’s another product Protect PV.500 from the second phase of the project.

Enrique de la Cruz, AEG Power Solution’s Vice President of the Solar Division, revealed that his company has received the contract because of their capability to offer complete supervising and monitoring power solutions with their Protect PV.250 and PV.500 solutions, which they are planning to provide through their subsidiary company Skytron. He added that due to increased demand and sales, his company has already installed instruments for 13 MW power facilities so far and is planning to add another 60 MW during the current year. The company anticipates that the demand for its Protect PV.250 & PV.500 will grow up to 40% in the next three years.
