DisaSolar to Use Flexible Thin-Film Solar Modules in Transportation and Signage Systems

Ascent Solar Technologies Inc, a producer of flexible thin-film solar modules, announced the signing of a distribution accord with DisaSolar, an auxiliary company of Megamark/DisaTech Group known for providing signage solutions for corporate, industrial and architectural segments in France and other countries in Europe.

DisaSolar will start distribution of lightweight, bendable and high-power producing thin film CIGS modules manufactured by Ascent Solar for use in off-grid applications such as incorporating the bendable solar panels over roofs of passenger trains and other commercial transportation and advertisement structures. The signed accord with DisaSolar will offer Ascent Solar a wide reach in the upcoming markets of Europe. The two companies demonstrated the PV module incorporation over the roof-top of a train owned by SNCF a local rail company successfully. The exclusive attributes of the CIGS modules of Ascent Solar compliments the signage integration capabilities of DisaSolar and is paving way for more novel usages in various upcoming sectors.
