Cogenra Solar Receives $1.5 Million Grant from California Solar Program

Cogenra Solar has been awarded with a research grant of $1.5 million from CSI RD&D program (California Solar Initiative Research, Development, Deployment and Demonstration).

This funding will be supporting the commercial development as well as the accelerated development of Cogenra’s proprietary technology for solar cogeneration while financing Cogenra Solar’s demonstration project located at Sonoma Wine Company situated in Graton, California.

The company’s solar cogeneration solution goes on to encompass the solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies which work in tandem for efficiently producing solar electricity and hot water. Sonoma Wine Company’s 272 kW thermal and electric installations deploy 15 units of Cogenra SunBase modules towards supporting the bottling operations of the facility, reduction of natural gas as well as the electricity consumption from the grid.

Cogenra Solar along with Sonoma Wine Company would be contributing matching funds to the extent of $2.7 million towards bringing the research project’s value in excess of $4 million.
