Petra Solar Launches Network Operations Center for Monitoring Smart Grid Solutions

Petra Solar has inaugurated its Network Operations Center (NOC) with a grand opening ceremony. NOC would be Petra Solar’s command center for remotely monitoring and controlling all its Smart Grid management software.

The Renewable and Smart Grid Assets of the utilities could be easily managed and monitored by Petra Solar’s extremely efficient asset management service. The NOC includes a team of experts who handle the avant-garde command and control equipment and also the software for managing the huge Sunwave Systems, which have been deployed over a large geographic region. The utilities gain grid reliability and other operational benefits much beyond solar by utilizing Smart Grid management software applications.

Dr. Shihab Kuran, the CEO and President of Petra Solar, remarked that the launch of NOC adds to or enhances the company’s commitment to Smart Grid Technology and solar leadership, and also to their International portfolio. He further stated that the SunWave Systems could be easily monitored, operated remotely and provides grid reliability worldwide. The systems would be manned by Petra Solar engineers on a 24/7 basis, real-time gathering vital data and providing valuable service to their utility customers globally.

Petra Solar has also opened a showroom, which would showcase the SunWave units mounted on concrete, wood, streetlight poles and aluminum utility poles. It also includes a demo on the Petra Solar’s Solar Energy Grid Integration Systems (SEGIS) technology, which was developed via a US Department of Energy contract. The SEGIS Technology created solutions, which preserve grid stability as the solar penetration increases, and incorporates grid support functions realized using an advanced energy platform with algorithms and helps grid stability and dynamic power control.

Petra Solar’s core solution, the SunWave is both innovative and unique and along with it comes its robust business model and a team of experts handling them. All this put together would go a long way in creating economic and environmental sustainability worldwide.
