Bureau of Land Management Appoints Bureau Veritas as Compliance Manager for Genesis Solar Energy Project

Appointed by the Bureau of Land Management, Department of Interior; Bureau Veritas will serve as the Compliance Manager at Riverside County, California for the Genesis Solar Energy Project, which is slated to be one of the largest solar energy plants in the country.

Throughout the construction phase, Bureau Veritas will ensure that the project meets the environmental requirements and adheres to the guidelines of the construction. As a compliance manager, Bureau Veritas will work in tandem with other agencies to monitor environmental compliance.

Vice President of Power and Utilities at Bureau Veritas, Kevin Wedman stated that the project will not only meet the demand for renewable and green energy solution but also during the peak of its construction period, around 1,100 jobs will be generated.

88,000 homes will be powered by the 250-megawatt Genesis Solar Energy facility built, operated and owned by NextEra™. Since, solar thermal technology is sufficient to generate electricity without the use of any supplemental fuel, the facility will reduce carbon dioxide emission by 33,000 tons annually.
