Solyndra, a producer of cylindrical shaped photovoltaic systems, has declared the availability of new solar panels for the construction of greenhouse structures for agricultural use and other types of shade providing structures.
The erection of the exclusive solar panels produced by Solyndra over the greenhouse structures, while consistently sustaining the prevailing agricultural practices also enables substantial production of electricity. The shade structure while improving the growth of plants that grow under the shade also allows the growers with extra stream of income and electrical power for their field usage. The new solar panel design also allows the penetration of light through the solar panel design. Initial research performed at the premises of the well known agricultural research institutions such as CeRSAA , University of California, Department of Plant Sciences have proved the enhanced growth of tomatoes and ornamental flowers underneath the shading structure. The institutions have confirmed that the structural design of the panels support the growth of crops below the structure while producing the required power.
It is said to be easy for the greenhouse producers to install the Solyndra panels over the rooftop of a greenhouse or shade providing structure. The roof installed panels provides uniform type of shading when compared to the traditional shade structures that creates a whitewashing light effect. The solar modules are designed to generate power from all types of sunlight such as direct, reflected and diffused lightings.
