DTE Energy, a Detroit, Michigan headquartered diversified energy company engaged in managing and developing of energy-related businesses all over the nation, has released a request inviting proposals from experienced solar energy companies.
The company is looking for companies who have considerable exposure in planning, developing and installing 150 kW or bigger sized solar systems.
DTE is looking forward to identifying and choosing competent companies to function along with it in the proposed large scale solar installations. The company has plans to install solar photovoltaic systems worth around 12 MW in its Southeast Michigan service area in the next few years. Detroit Edison will possess and manage the installed solar systems, which will be ground fixed or erected over the rooftops of industrial, commercial buildings or the buildings owned by DTE Energy.
DTE Energy has plans to utilize the energy generated from such installations to augment its renewable energy portfolio to achieve the mandatory 10% of total distributable energy from renewable energy sources by the year 2015. The company currently generates 4% of its distributed energy from renewable energy sources.
