Semiconductor Research Corporation, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology Organize Solar Researchers Meeting in Abu Dhabi

Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, have arranged for the first ever meeting of university researchers and solar experts from various countries for a debate on photovoltaic (PV) technology.

The event slated for 27^th and 28^th March is to be held in Abu Dhabi and will discuss the ways to accomplish 25% conversion efficiency from solar resources by the year 2020.

The meeting titled, ‘Solar-Electrical Energy Systems 2020’, is anticipated to be attended by over 40 researchers from various universities in Japan, Asia, Europe and North America. The gathering will discuss various topics such as Commercial-Scale PV Systems and System Integration Challenges and New Materials and Nanostructures for PV. The meeting held in collaboration with Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and SRC will also discuss the ways for Abu Dhabi’s secure solar future and prospective smart grid applications.

The conference encourages participation only through invitation and results of the conference are anticipated to fuel a number of new researches in solar and semiconductor technologies in Abu Dhabi led by Masdar Institute and other educational institutions.
