AMP Holding Will Drive Electric Car to Capitol Hill in EDTA Innovation Motorcade

AMP Holding Inc. (OTCBB and OTCQB: AMPD), a company engaged in the emission-free electrification of OEM vehicles, announced it will drive its AMP Electric Equinox in the EDTA Innovation Motorcade in Washington, DC on April 19, 2011. AMP visits on Capitol Hill, to the Department of Energy, and the White House will send a message that the electric car is here, and that America has taken a leadership role in moving into the future.

The EDTA 2011 Conference will take place in DC from April 19th through the 21st, with opening speaker, the Honorable Ray LaHood, Secretary of Transportation. The conference will bring important developments in electric transportation to the forefront. To that end, Jim Taylor, AMP CEO has accepted a speaker role on current and future electric drive technologies.

AMP Electric Equinox to Drive in Washington DC Motorcade to White House

“The 2011 EDTA Conference in Washington, DC stands at the leading edge in environmental issues as they relate to all-electric transportation,” said Jim Taylor, AMP CEO. “We at AMP are proud to showcase our AMP electric Equinox on Capitol Hill and at the White House, as well as contribute as a speaker during this important conference.”

The AMP Equinox features a lithium battery system, powered by two rear mounted traction motors, by Remy International, Inc. The 100-mile SUV has a top speed electronically limited at 90 mph, and will go from 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds. The vehicle can be charged from household 110v or 220v outlets, just as other popular electric vehicles like the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf.

President Obama recently reinforced his goal of America having one million electric vehicles on the road by 2015. This EDTA DC event and its motorcade to the White House, makes a visible statement that America is pursuing that goal. The 2011 EDTA Conference is attended by industry delegates, EDTA members, government officials, and students. In addition to AMP’s participation, sponsors of the Conference include General Motors, General Electric, Toyota, Eaton, Siemens, and REMY International.
