Solergy, which introduced the Building Integrated Concentrated Photovoltaic (BICPV) system utilizing its Cogen CPV technology, has displayed its products in SOLAREXPO, a prominent solar conference in Italy.
The system utilizes a novel tilt-and-roll type of tracker design that allows direct installation of the system over rooftop beams and greenhouses or over ground.
The company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Azienda Agricola Ciccolella, a producer of olive oil and cut roses and located in the Puglia region of Italy to install a 105kW Cogen BICPV system over a greenhouse facility used for growing roses. Simultaneously, the two companies have agreed to work in partnership to create a market for the Cogen solar product among the orchards and greenhouses located all over Puglia region.
Solergy also has also contracted an accord with the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) to construct a combined 250 kW Cogen CPV facility at the Sicily located Pantelleria Airport. The installation is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The inputs from the installation will be utilized by ENAC for paving the way for such clean energy installations at airports.
