SolarPA Utilizes Nano-Crystals Coating Technology to Improve Efficiency of Solar Cells

SolarPA, a New Tripoli, PA- based company. declared that with an arrangement with Solar Power Industries it has utilized its own technology in coating nano-crystals over the completed solar cells from Solar Power and has bettered the efficiency of solar cells by 11.5%. The technology has improved the average efficiency of cells from 15.4% to 17.2%.

According to Dr. Robert Castellano, SolarPA’s CEO, the discovery will enable a solar cell manufacturing plant to boost its output by 11.5%. Also the new technology allows the use of those marginally efficient cells up to 15% efficiency in the solar panels instead of disposing them as junk. The NanoCoat is administered over the solar cells after the production process, thus allowing continuous production of cells without disruption. Presently SolarPA is assessing the use various technologies for NanoCoat depositing during the cell production process, which includes screen printing and dip coating.

Dr. Robert Castellano, stated, that the new technology from SolarPA served as the means for European and U.S. solar cell producers to contend with the outpouring of the cheap solar cell products from China.
