Saint-Gobain Solar introduces PowerMax Solar Modules in North America

Saint-Gobain Solar has announced the introduction of PowerMax photovoltaic (PV) modules produced by Avancis to expand and consolidate its position in North America.

The slim designed module incorporates Copper–Indium–Selenide (CIS) solar power generation technology to offer cost-effective power production solutions and demonstrates the research and product development expertise of Avanicis.

The CIS technology deployed in the module comprise thin layers of less than one micron in thickness implanted over the glass surface to render increased level of power conversion efficiency. The thin film solar module as confirmed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) generates power even in low light conditions. The sleek and stylish PowerMax black solar panels are manufactured sturdy and can be easily installed over all types of roofs, canopies and curtain walls.

Earlier, Saint-Gobain Solar had installed PowerMax solar panels at its headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. The system designed to substitute nearly 20% of its yearly power consumption will cut down around 224,000 pounds of carbon dioxide release over a period of 20 years, which can be equated to developing of a new forest over a land area of around 23 acres.
