Genencor Introduces Accellerase TRIO to Improve Enzyme Conversion Process

Genencor has declared the availability of a new product, Accellerase TRIO, to be used by biofuel producers for manufacture of cellulosic ethanol from a variety of green feedstock such as corn stover, wheat straw, switchgrass and civic solid waste.

The use of Accellerase TRIO enables low level enzyme dosage during the ethanol production process to achieve cost reduction. The product improves biomass to sugar conversion efficiency, which is an important step in the manufacture of cellulosic ethanol. The product provides a mix of enzymes as a single product to break up xylan (C5) and glucan (C6) present in the biomass feedstock. Its efficiency in converting the biomass products into fermentable sugars enables increased level of ethanol production for every unit of feedstock used.

The ability of Accellerase TRIO to work and perform with a wide range of renewable feedstock permits the manufacturers to choose even nonfood materials and municipal solid wastes for their conversion into bio-chemicals or ethanol. The product reduces the viscosity level in the feedstocks to assist the manufacturers to process more biomass for increased level of production.
