China Yuchai International Announces Development of Euro VI Compliant Diesel Engine

China Yuchai International declared that its main working auxiliary Guangxi Yuchai Machinery (GYMCL) has developed the first of its kind prototype diesel engine in China that meets the Euro VI emission criteria, thus setting a key milestone in the technological advancement of the country.

GYMCL has developed the YC6L-60 engine in a period of four years in association with researchers from National Key Laboratory of engine combustion, in Tianjin University. The test results were released by the National Passenger Car Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Tianjin Automotive Test Center).

The issued results demonstrate that the discharge of nitrogen oxide and particulate matter from the YC6L-60 engine were well under the stipulations set by the Euro VI emission standards. The important features of YC6L-60 engine include a patent protected low temperature combustion engineering which cuts down the pressure requirement at the fuel injection level thus augmenting the working life of the fuel injection system and other important parts of the engine.
