The report forecasts that yearly power generation will witness an average 6.5% growth during the period from 2011 to 2015 while the power consumption will grow at 6.4% rate in the period. The report also perceives a reduction in its level of forecasts for consumption due to proposed stringent carbon discharge and energy usage controls. It anticipates that both power generation and consumption will remain in the same level.

The National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) in China increased its solar power output targets to be achieved in 2020. The State Grid Corporation of China, a power transmission and distribution business in China has announced its plans to increase its investments in the power grid of the country by 68% in the coming five years (2011-2015).
