PPG Industries Supplies Glass and Coating Products to Assist Earning LEED Pilot Credit 43

PPG Industries, an architectural glass and exterior and interior coatings manufacturing company, has declared that a number of its glass and coating products can assist the construction projects to get the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) pilot credit instituted by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The products manufactured and supplied by PPG Industries have received third party environmental standard certifications such as ENERGY STAR and other certifications mentioned in an authorized list issued by the USGBC to assist the construction projects to receive the LEED Pilot Credit 43. According to USGBC, it extends the LEED Pilot Credit 43 for third party certified products and materials to encourage the use of such products with clean properties, elements and life cycle to improve the general social, economic and ecological functioning.

Some of the third party certified products supplied by PPG Industries and eligible to earn Pilot Credit 43 include its CRADLE TO CRADLE CERTIFIED (CM) certified normal clear glass, earth and sky performance tings. VISTACOOL (R) glasses, STARPHIRE(R) ultra-clear glass, OCEANS OF COLOR (R) tinted glasses, low-e glasses, SUNGATE(R) passive, low-e glasses, and SOLARBAN(R) solar control. Its products such as panel coatings, Duranar VARI-COOL(R) and DURANAR(R) ULTRA-COOL (R) metal roof and panel coatings are ENERGY STAR certified. Its architectural coatings such as PURE PERFORMANCE(R) interior paint and as PPG PITTSBURGH PAINTS(R) brand are GREENGUARD(R)-certified.
