Gehrlicher Solar America has completed the installation of two additional commercial solar systems in the United States. The company has entered into the Massachusetts market with the installation of a 151 kW ground-mounted system in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. There is a plan to construct at least 5 MW of projects throughout 2012.

The solar system at Dartmouth encloses around seven acres in a semi-rural suburban region. This system is anticipated to produce an annual production of 186,500 kW/h, which will supply 90% of the electricity consumed at the site.
Gehrlicher Solar installed the racking system, the Gehrtec Base, for ground-mounted systems in the United States for the first time. This racking system is appropriate for a broad range of module sizes and technologies, and allows the orientation and tilt of every module to be altered independently.
A 322 kW rooftop solar system is the second completed project in New Jersey. A group of private investors has purchased the system. Under a power purchase contract, these investors will sell the energy to KMT’s cold storage unit.
According to Dr. Stefan Parhofer, Gehrlicher Solar’s Chief Executive Officer, both solar projects are significant to the company. Gehrlicher is getting several inquiries from Massachusetts, which has a remarkable Solar Renewable Energy Certificates market. Even though New Jersey remains a prominent market for solar, it still remains a challenging prospect for the company, Parhofer concluded.
