Hybrid Geothermal System Installed in New Apartments in St. Artemio by AiD Engineering

AiD Engineering has completed a range of geothermal products for the residential and commercial sectors. The company installed a hybrid geothermal system in a new set of apartments in St. Artemio, located in Attica. This six storey building required an open loop hybrid geothermal system as there were space constraints in the area.

First, AiD Engineering installed a telescopic water drill for the purpose of reinjection and pumping. Next, two FHP or Florida heat pumps were installed as the quantity of water being pumped was not sufficient. If the amount of water pumped is not adequate, thermal and heating loads cannot be achieved. The telescopic water drill could be a deterrent for the project as the temperature of the pumped water could change after a period of use. To avoid this, AiD Engineering also installed an air to water heat pump to regulate the temperature of the pumped water at all times.

The air to water heat pump installed by AiD Engineering in the six storey building acots a sa supplementary or back up system. Other projects by AiD Engineering have been completed in locations such as residential units, apartments, casinos, infirmaries and the like. The types of geothermal systems installed by them include open loop systems, horizontal closed loop systems, closed loop vertical systems, hybrid geothermal systems and closed conical loop systems.
