Radco Solar Drainback Water Storage Systems from Sun Systems

Sun Systems offers the Radco Solar drainback water storage system that comprises a solar panel collector, water storage tank and heat transfer system. The solar panel collector collects solar energy to heat the water. The water storage tank stores the heat transfer fluid that is usually distilled water. When the solar sensor detects that the solar collector has captured sufficient heat, it circulates the heat transfer fluid through the collector.

After the heat transfer fluid is heated, it is pumped back to the storage tank from where the heat is transferred to the hot water tank. This process is repeated several times, until the desired water temperature is obtained. When there is not enough heat in the collector, the pump is turned off and water is drained back to the tank by gravitational force.

The water completely drains out from the collector and any exposed piping as well. This helps to prevent freezing of the collector during cold climatic conditions. The pump is turned off and water is drained even during electrical power outage and at night. This closed loop solar hot water system, provided by Sun Systems, does not need to be flushed and filled with anti-freeze fluids periodically. The Radco Solar drainback water storage system is a maintenance-free solar hot water system.
