Energy Saving Systems offers different models of Solatube tubular skylights including the 160 DS model. The potential tube length of the 160 DS tubular skylight is 20 feet, while the diameter is 10 inches. The natural daylighting system offers light coverage area in the range from 150 to 200 square feet. The effective daylight capturing surface, which denotes the dome surface area, is 160 square inches.
The Solatube 160 DS tubular skylight is available with different effect lenses to be used with the diffuser. The effect lens options available are natural clear effect lens, softening effect lens, warm effect lens and warm softening effect lens. The diffuser for the skylight comes in two types: Vusion and OptiView. The Vusion diffuser provides radiance of natural light and blends well with the ceiling plane. The OptiView diffuser features Fresnel lens to provide crystal clear daylight. The diffusers are also available in different designs that are stainless tone trim and frosted shade.
When ventilation add-on kit is combined with the Solatube 160 DS daylight, it provides both light and ventilation from one integrated solution. Other options available with the daylighting system, provided by Energy Saving Systems, include daylight dimmer and light add-on kit. The daylight dimmer helps to control the light, while the light add-on kit provides light during night. To install dome easily on the roof, three choices of flashings are offered that are universal tile, no pitch and pitched.
