Association of Energy Engineers to Receive Renewable Energy Certificates from GDF SUEZ Energy Resources for 2010 Globalcon Conference

The 2010 Globalcon Conference & Expo will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on March 24th and 25th. The Association of Energy Engineers will be provided with renewable energy certificates from GDF SUEZ Energy Resources that matches the electricity consumed at the convention center for the two-day conference and expo. The renewable energy certificates (RECs) supplied by the company are Green-e certified.

President and CEO for GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, Bob Wilson, applauded the commitment of the Association of Energy Engineers for using renewable energy for the two-day 2010 Globalcon Conference & Expo, which also demonstrates that there are vast opportunities for companies and organizations to adopt sustainable business practices. The company is dedicated to environmental responsibility and delighted to be associated with the Globalcon Expo and AEE, Wilson said.

Albert Thumann, AEE Executive Director, said that with more than 2,500 attendees and 200 exhibitors supposed to be present at the conference, it provides a perfect platform for the Association of Energy Engineers to show how RECs can be used by businesses, energy engineers and energy managers.

The environmental benefits of producing power through renewable energy sources such as solar and wind are represented through RECs. Organizations, companies, and institutions can utilize these RECs to cut down their indirect emission of greenhouse gases as well as to support the development and operation of renewable energy.
