WT2000SG Wind Turbine Designs from Windtec

Windtec, a subsidiary of American Semiconductor Corporation, provides various wind turbine designs including the WT2000SG to manufacturers. This wind turbine design is a 2.0 mega watt model featuring SuperGEAR. The wind turbine model is available with 70, 80 and 100 meter hub height options, to suit different type classes. The WT2000SG wind turbine design is provided in type class I, II and III.

The WT2000SG wind turbine design includes a synchronous medium voltage generator. The generator can be connected to the grid directly without the converter. The wind turbine, offered by Windtec, features tower made of conical tubular steel, hub made of cast iron and mainframe made of cast iron. The rotor diameter for the wind turbine is available in 93, 86, or 76 meter. The generator of the wind turbine has a rated speed of 1500rpm. The generator is cooled by water jacket.

At a wind speed of 3.5 meters per second, the WT2000SG wind turbine starts producing electricity. The drive train of the wind turbine features parallel shaft gear or planetary type of gearing. The yaw system has four gear motor drive units and slide type of bearing. The operational brake of the wind turbine is full span blade pitching, while the mechanical brake is disc brake. The WT2000SG wind turbine, in the cold climate, operates in a temperature range from -30 to +40 degrees Celsius, and in the hot climate operates in a temperature range from zero to 45 degrees Celsius.
